Arrive in Edinburgh where it’s time to kick off your Scottish adventure. From here you’ll travel to Speyside, a region of Scotland famed for its malt whiskey. Travel through the area to see Dewars World of Whiskey and Edradour, two famed Scottish distilleries. Edradour is the smallest functioning distillery in Scotland. Journey north where you’ll make a final stop at Dalwhinnie Distillery. Dalwhinnie is the highest distillery in the whole of Scotland. Today is to be spent exploring Speyside and the surrounding area to visit numerous distilleries dotted around the region. The Glenfiddich Explorers Tour at Dufftown is a must-visit and shouldn’t be passed up! You’re also welcome to visit the Visitor’s Centre at the Glenlivet distillery. The best attraction on offer today is a tour of The Speyside Cooperage in Craigellachie village. The cooperage is an essential part of whiskey distillery. Craigellachie is also home to the Macallan Distillery, another point of interest. Today you’ll continue to explore Scotland’s malt whiskey trail. The first stop is a visit to Glen Grant Distillery and Strathisla. This is the oldest surviving distillery in the area. Situated near the glorious River Isla, the distillery is steeped in rich history. When you’re finished here it’s onwards to Gordon & MacPhail distillery, another fine example of Scotland’s history in whiskey-making. The river provides ample opportunities for a beautiful backdrop and the scenery is truly beautiful. Surrounded by picturesque fishing villages it’s almost like something out of a story-book! To conclude your trip today, you’ll be travelling back to the city where it all began. You’ll travel back south from the Highlands to the Lowlands, pausing at Glenturret Distillery. The distillery is the oldest working one in Scotland and is home to Famous Grouse Whiskey. Enjoy one last distillery tour as you learn about the process from start to finish, tasting a cheeky sample before you continue on your journey to Edinburgh. From here, the return trip is 90 minutes.
